Battlefield 2 Comedy of Errors
Posted by inpheaux on July 12th, 2005 at 5:04 pmHere, have a timeline:
- EA ships the game with a broken server browser, Gamespy's browser doesn't initially work, and in general there's a laundry list of things to be fixed.
- Some of this stuff magically gets rectified.
- EA ships a 1.01 patch, full of so many more problems PLUS a giant memory leak that casually blows up servers after a short time of being online
- Most people don't even bother upgrading because seriously, why bother?
- EA pulls the 1.01 patch altogether.
- EA pulls all their hosted BF2 servers offline (but gives everyone some free credits, that makes it ok, right guys?!!)
- All BF2 stuff explodes to the point that now no one can log in to be able to play multiplayer at all. This is potentially due to a massive DoS attack being launched against them.
gg EA. Nextmap.
