Supreme Commander Preview
Posted by inpheaux on July 12th, 2005 at 10:25 amThe crew over at GameSpy posted a rather nicely sized preview of Supreme Commander last week. They also have 59 screenshots of the game up now. Supreme Commander is the forthcoming 'spiritual successor' to Total Annihilation, an older RTS which you should really hunt down if you're not familiar with it. The most exciting thing to me from this article was the details on the nuclear options, and how nukes will be of proper size and do proper damage, even deforming and vaporizing terrain accordingly.
I greatly endorse this concept of spiritual successors. We've got Supreme Commander in 2006, Bioshock in 2006 maybe also, and others I can't seem to name off the top of my head. Now if I could get a Freespace 2 spiritual successor, I'd be set, but even without one it seems like 2006 is going to be another stellar year for PC Gaming, much like 2004 was.
