Updated impressions of Shadow of the Colossus

G4-TechTV's yearly irrelevant and over-hyped super mega hype-fest 3000 "G-Phoria" has come and gone. Generally, this is nothing really worth talking about, since it's nearly as unwatchable as Spike TV's similar pointless awardshow / 2-hour long EA Commercial, but apparently this year there were some demos set up, so that means news and news is good.

Specifically, the guys at GameSpot got some time to play the absolute most recent build of Shadow of the Colossus, Sony's long-awaited followup to ICO. Here, have a quote:

"The producer on the project left us with some tantalizing details: that a 30-minute ending sequence, along with a truly extraordinary (and extraordinarily long) battle leading up to it, should make for a satisfying conclusion, but that Shadow will also include unlockable extras, subtle connections to ICO, and other hidden secrets."

Only somewhat disappointing / confusing bit of the article is that they mentioned an October release date, when it's previously been confirmed and re-confirmed over and over that it's slated for stateside release on September 20th. Everything I can still find still says September, so untill I hear otherwise, that's the date I'm going by.
