Diablo II v1.11 Patch Released

Posted by inpheaux on August 1st, 2005 at 2:18 pm

Didn't expect it this fast, did you?

Well, it's out. Sadly, very little is actually being changed, nothing near the same level as the massive 1.10 patch. But in exchange we got a patch somewhat actually in a timely fashion relative to the announcement of it's existence. Here's a quote from the release notes regarding the new stuff:

"A new Mystery has been revealed!

- Players of Hell Difficulty Realm games are hereby warned once again,
that a series of new and challenging tests await you! The answer lies
within Diablo's Bosses, which span across the world from the Den of Evil
to the Throne of Destruction...

New Items

- Added 10 New Runewords.
- Added new Unique Items that will drop from Special Bosses.

Hireling Enhancements

- Players can purchase hirelings that are within 1-5 levels below their
own level.
- The rate at which hirelings gain experience has been increased. They
should now stay closer to the player's level."

Everything else is a boring bugfix. Or, at least, boring unless your current character's build was based around shamelessly exploiting one of the bugs. You can read about those while the patch downloads and installs.

To grab the patch, just dust off your ancient Diablo II cds and connect to Battle.net. Unfortunately, the realms are reportedly still down, so you can't actually go play with these new things, but I assume they'll be back up quite soon, along with an official post on the Battle.net mainpage.
