Your weekly Shadow of the Colossus update

Super-Belated update [04 NOV 2005]: Our links to the exclusive hidden Shadow of the Colossus wallpapers died at some point. Here, I've fixed them now. And hey, look, we even found some new ones, and have links to all the resolutions. Aren't we so helpful?
- The Minotaur - 800x600 / 1024x768 / 1600x1200
- The Mammoth - 800x600 / 1024x768 / 1600x1200
- The Knight - 800x600 / 1024x768 / 1600x1200
Apart from these, there's another 10 wallpaper selections readily available in the official site's download page.
It also seems they've added two hidden screensavers, one based on the sea serpent, and the other based on the sand serpent. Since you're here, and I'm doing this update, I feel obligated to also show off our glowing review of Shadow of the Colossus.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled news post, already in progress. . .
Two items worth mentioning today. First, Sony launched the official U.S. Shadow of the Colossus site recently. It's quite nice, and like any good official site features all manner of shiny things to fawn over. I'm particularily fond of the wallpapers. Apart from the five listed on the page, there are also some hidden "exclusive" ones, of which we've found three. one of the minotaur, the mammoth and the knight.
(I liked the knight one so much that he's right next to this post.)
Anyways, all the other standards are around. trailers, little video clips, tiny tiny screenshots, and worthless little random bits like buddy icons. So go check it out, and if you find any of the other exclusive wallpapers, let us know on the forums.
In other news, the demo is coming soon. Or if you subscribe to the Official Playstation Magazine, is already out. Included on the October issue's demo disc is the E3 2005 build of the Shadow of the Colossus demo. Reportedly, quite a bit has changed since then, but it's still the first hands-on experience most of us will have with it. For those of us not privledged enough to have a subscription, this issue has a street date of September 6th-ish. So while you're out picking up Katamari Damacy 2, grab a copy of OPM.
Oh, and you might remember hearing about the Shadow of the Colossus Preorder Bonus that was just going to be around in Japan. Not really all that notable, untill you notice the whole "contains never-before-seen Nico footage" aspect. Apparently the localization producer at Sony of America (whose crazy internet question-answering antics we previously covered) wants to bring it over here. No details on how exactly that'd work, but hey, that'd be neat. I'd like that. In the meantime, I'll continue waiting for some nice guy in Japan to rip it and post it online.
And finally, for those of you who didn't get the memo, Shadow of the Colossus is still slated for an October 18th release. As much as it displeases us, this will give our wallets a while to recover from September.
