Black & White 2 worldwide release date set

It's hard to want to write about Black & White 2. Never before have I been so completely burned by a game's hype than how I was with Black & White. I'm not entirely sure I'm going to be giving Black & White 2 a shot, purely out of fear, but perhaps some of you are more brave than I am or have $50 to blow. Either way, you brave few will get to hand over your cash on October 7th, 2005. Note that this is a multi-region simultaneous release. Previously, they had listed a North-American date and a European date, now it's all at once.
Personally, I see this as a bad sign, because it means neither region will have the benefit of hearing from unsuspecting users in the other that this is the worst game ever. We'll all get suckered in at once.
The news update this was announced in also mentioned that there's a new preview of the game up at Total Video Games. From the review, it sounds like they've really managed to expand the game in every way possible. Here, have a quote:
"Black & White 2 feels like the game Black & White should have been; there’s a distinctive challenge presented to the player, yet the signature components are all still there."
Despite this, and the lofty "anticipation rating" they gave it of 9/10, I'm still very wary, and plan on keeping a watchful eye on the Game Rankings meta-score. But who knows, maybe they really did sit down and come up with a really really good not-disappointing-at-all game this time. Stranger things have happened.
