Katamary Damacy coming to the PSP
Posted by inpheaux on September 15th, 2005 at 12:09 amOne more quick update tonight: looks like some manner of Katamari Damacy is coming out for PSP. The current title is "Boku no Watashi Katamari Damacy", roughly translating to "My My Katamari Damacy". Unfortunately, that's about all I know. It's being made, and unlike the previously speculated Katamari Damacy game for the DS, we have screenshots of this one. So here, check out this scan from Famitsu. I can't tell you much of what's going on here because i can't read moonspeak. I can, however, look at pretty pictures and speculate about how much of a pain it'll be to roll around a Katamari with the PSP's controls. Perhaps we'll have to use L and R to rotate, and use the analog stick for thrust. Or not, who knows? IT IS A MYSTERY.
If you can read moonspeak, perhaps you'd like to enlighten us on the forums, and let us know what wonderful things this scan is attempting to communicate to us.
Update: Looks like this is a scan from the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly. 1up did some digging and got some more info.
"In the PSP version, there's Paradise Island, a remote where animals lived happily, but when a tidal wave comes and floods the island, a lone turtle sent adrift. This singular turtle lands on the Prince's Island, where he retells the story of the tragedy. Being the nice guy he is, the kind prince swears to rebuild the animals' island."
Sounds . . well, it certainly sounds like a Katamari Damacy game. There should be more info about this as the week goes on at the Tokyo Game Show. We'll keep you posted.
