Nintendo pushes yet another GBA out the door

No, it's not the GameBoy Micro, it's the old standard GBA-SP. . . but now it has a new screen.

Specifically, it appears to be a GBA-SP-sized screen that uses the same brighter screen tech used in the GameBoy Micro. The updated units are reportedly hitting retailers this week, and it's coming in two colors, "Graphite" and "Pearl Blue". I haven't been supplied with their Pantone color codes, but I've been told that "Graphite" is like the old "Onyx" color but lighter, and "Pearl Blue" is like the old "Platinum" color but barely tinted blue.

So here's a question: why would anyone buy a Micro now? It completely fails from a technological standpoint. The new GBA-SP has a bigger screen, is just as bright as the Micro, and has the bonus of a built-in screen protector due to the hinge. The only reasons I can see left to buy a Micro are that it's shiny, new, tiny and actually being advertised.

Unless a DS killer-app (more killer than Nintendogs) comes out before November, I'll probably pick one of these up come Black Friday.
