Square Enix consumes Taito

Just as we reported a month ago, Square Enix has gobbled up Taito. Yesterday . . or today . . or something (time zones are FUN!), Squeenix announced that they pulled $564 Million out of their magical bag of cash to buy up 93.7% of Taito's stock. As of next Wednesday Taito will officially become a wholly owned subsidiary of Square Enix.
No changes have really been announced to Taito's operations yet, but those should be expected eventually, since I can't really see Square Enix dropping that quantity of cash just to have it. No name changes either, which is good, because "Squenito" just doesn't roll off the tongue like Squeenix does.
Now I guess we all just have to wait for the inevitable angst-filled x-treem Bubble Bobble RPG.
