Equal Rights in the Mushroom Kingdom

Princess Peach, despite being royalty, has always been a second class citizen to Nintendo. She's always been around as a character solely used to pad out a larger roster, a trend that started way back in SMB 2, and continues today in every Mario game ever. If you can play as Peach, it's safe to assume that you can also play as at least four other characters. Since SMB 2, everyone else has gotten their own game. Mario, of course, has starred in more games than anyone ever. Luigi got his own lackluster ghostbusting Gamecube launch title, and got to co-star in Mario & Luigi for the GBA. Yoshi got one of the best platformers of the SNES era, and then a wonderful set of puzzle games. Hell, even Wario hit it big, now pushing games specially tailored to the ADD generation.
But no, never Peach. She just gets to do cameos and teach computers how to love.
It seems those days are over. Nintendo just announced Super Princess Peach, a DS game based around the ongoing floaty adventures of Mushroom Kingdom's bright pink royalty. It seems to be a stylized 2d platformer, in the vein of . . well . . every other 2d Mario platformer ever. But with Princess Peach.
Surprisingly enough, it looks really good. There's a short trailer/commercial thing here. I suggest watching it immediately.
I don't consider myself even remotely fluent in moonspeak, but I know a date when I see it. Looks like this is set for release on October 20th in Japan. No clue if they'll even be bringing it over here, but I certainly hope so. If not, well, there's no region coding on the DS for a reason.
