Nintendo of Japan makes Mother 3 Official

I've got a quick little Monday-morning update on the status of Mother 3. Nintendo of Japan confirmed its existence today by putting up an incredibly sparse Japanese Official Site. The nice fluent-in-moonspeak people over at Starmen.net clarified that the bit at the bottom mentions that the game will be released in Japan in Spring 2006. Still no word from Nintendo of America, but this could easily be something that shows up at E3 2006.
It may or may not be worth noting that the logo is the same one originally used for the first Mother 3, AKA Earthbound 64. Whether or not this actually means anything is still up in the air, since we've previously heard that pretty much everything related to Earthbound 64 was thrown out.
Can you tell I'm giddy about this? Because I am. Very giddy.
