Bomberman Act Zero official site is up

Posted by inpheaux on February 27th, 2006 at 1:38 pm

And, as expected, it's horrible!
No, seriously. This is going to be bad.
The official site is up, but just like the last source of news, it's all in Japanese, so good luck making sense of it. I can at least tell you that it's slated for release 25 MAY 2006 in Japan, will feature both "standard" [...]

Infinium finally gives in: Phantom officially “on hold”

Posted by inpheaux on February 22nd, 2006 at 4:19 pm

This may sadly be the last we hear from Infinium Labs for awhile. We love Infinium Labs, because they somehow have managed to fail so completely in such a wide variety of ways, but still always kept their heads just barely above water. And they never went away completely. They never turtled up like 3d [...]

Linkdump: 8bit Katamari Damacy

Posted by King_Andy on February 17th, 2006 at 7:18 pm

I don't read Japanese, so I'm not one hundred percent sure what this is all about. But if you've ever wondered what Katamari Damacy would have been like back in the classic days of 8-bit then wonder no longer. This is definitely worth playing. All the wonderful rolling and getting bigger [...]

Next-Gen Bomberman for the 360 revealed

Posted by inpheaux on February 16th, 2006 at 12:30 pm

I am at a loss for words. This rarely happens. Usually I can at least come up with something to say when I see some tiny bit of news, but this. . . I just don't know anymore. This is apparently a rather super-early preview article from the latest issue of Famitsu, everyone's favourite weekly [...]

Update: Opera for the DS Confirmed

Posted by inpheaux on February 15th, 2006 at 7:07 am

Opera Software confirmed today what Reggie alluded to last week: Opera is coming to the DS. There isn't a whole lot to say about it right now, but it's only currently confirmed for a Japanese release this June. I think it's a safe bet that it'll be localized and eventually get a worldwide release, but [...]

New to the DS: voice chat, download stations, possible web browser

Posted by inpheaux on February 9th, 2006 at 3:35 pm

King_Andy, our resident Virtual Reality Specialist, tends to take every chance he gets to bemoan the fact that apart from Nintendogs, the only thing DS games seem to use the microphone input for is to detect blowing. Furthermore, he [and others, obviously] has argued that surely there's enough overhead in WFC to permit voice chat, [...]

Halo 2 for Windows Vista - Does anyone care?

Posted by inpheaux on February 9th, 2006 at 2:09 pm

Moments ago Microsoft confirmed rumors that were circulating earlier in the day to the effect that Halo 2 would be coming to PC, specifically being locked into only running on Windows Vista. The fact that they're doing this is no incredible suprise, but does anyone really care? If the game is only going to be [...]

Mother 3 presents from Shigesato Itoi

Posted by inpheaux on February 6th, 2006 at 10:38 pm

Looks like over the next few days we'll be getting Mother-3-related presents from Shigesato Itoi's Official Mother 3 website. The first present doesn't appear to be anything, but the second one has a minute and a half long mp3 from Mother 3 up for download. It's a simple little piano track, apparently the "Mother 3 [...]

Return of Indie Games You Should Know

Posted by inpheaux on February 5th, 2006 at 6:35 am

Oh yes, it's time for another installment of our ongoing series "Indie Games You Should Know".
First up today, a game I've had installed for quite awhile now, Break Quest. Break Quest is at its core a very solid breakout clone, where you control a paddle and use it to bounce a ball to break bricks [...]
