Guitar Hero 2 officially in the works
Posted by inpheaux on March 6th, 2006 at 1:21 pmEurogamer brings great news from Guitar Hero's publisher Red Octane: Guitar Hero 2 is coming, as are genre-specific expansions. Here comes a quote:
"We are working on Guitar Hero 2, which will have 40-plus new tracks," [Kelly Sumner, CEO of RedOctane,] told MCV. He also confirmed that genre spin-offs including Country Rock for the US and a Metal edition are on the cards. He even pointed to further possibilities for the peripheral, adding, "you could absolutely do a plug and play version".
This was somewhat leaked in Marcus Henderson's 'Ask a Guitar Hero' thread over at the official Guitar Hero forums, when he mentioned that as one of the main guitarists for the recordings of all the covers in Guitar Hero, he had landed himself a slot on the track-selection board for GH2. Still, it's nice to get some confirmation from someone higher up on the corporate food chain.
Now I guess the only question is 'How long will we have to wait for more tracks to rock out to?"
