First few Guitar Hero 2 Tracks announced

Not all of them, mind, but some. More than we had before, though.

In a press release yesterday, RedOctane leaked out a couple confirmed tracks for the forthcoming Guitar Hero 2, tracks which will be playable at E3.

“The top-secret sequel song list remains firmly in the rock domain, with more than 55 songs being featured in the next installment. Confirmed for E3 are seven playable tracks including: “Psychobilly Freakout,” “Strutter,” “Who Was in My Room Last Night,” “You Really Got Me,” “War Pigs,” “YYZ” and “Arterial Black.”

For the less-musically-educated, here's a slightly more informative list:

  • "Psychobilly Freakout" - The Reverend Horton Heat
  • "Strutter" - KISS
  • "Who Was In My Room Last Night" - Butthole Surfers
  • "You Really Got Me" - The Kinks [or Van Halen. They'll probably cover it closer to Van Halen.]
  • "War Pigs" - Black Sabbath
  • "YYZ" - Rush
  • "Arterial Black" - Drist

And that's just what we know will be playable at E3. They can always cram more in there. In this Pre-E3 press release, RedOctane also confirmed performances at E3 from Graveyard BBQ [last year's winners of the Be-A-Guitar-Hero concert], as well as Drist and Shaimus. Much rocking will be occuring in Kentia Hall this year, and we'll be there. Expect to see proof of me schooling Andy if they have MP demo kiosks.
