YOU killed the Dreamcast, IGN brings it back

In today's incomprehensible news, IGN has relaunched their Dreamcast site. Yes! That makes sense, right? Well, apparently, it's a bit of a side project from some of the IGN editors who are even gayer for the Dreamcast than I am. They are kinda hoping their nearly inexplicable act will spur Sega into making a console again. It's a nice thought.
Many know how much I love the Dreamcast, it was a capable, innovative system with cool features. Nobody bought it. It had some truly great games. Nobody played them. No company made consoles with more personality ("soul", if you will) than Sega, but a crucial misstep with the design of Saturn (people still like 2d, right guys?) led to a downward spiral of public perception they never recovered from. Is it your fault it's dead? Yeah, sorry. Is it tragic? Definitely. Is this stunt from IGN going to bring it back? No chance in hell. Sega is quite comfortable spreading its assets among the Big Three and despite the sad fact we'll never see another console from them, the games have survived, and that's what's really important.
Even so, this move is nice in that it will touch on all the great stuff the Dreamcast had to offer, and hopefully drive a few curious gamers to pick up one on eBay and see what they missed [Editor's Note: Yes, and then pick up a second one when the first one mysteriously dies]. Click on over and check it out.
