ESA Prez confirms: E3 as we know it is dead
Posted by inpheaux on July 31st, 2006 at 8:32 pmAs we reported yesterday, E3 as we know is officially dead. Earlier today Doug Lowenstein, the Electronic Software Association's President, confirmed that the giant yearly blinking-lights-filled nerd fest that people on all sides of the gaming industry have come to love and/or hate is over. Reasons cited are the ones we've all heard: exhibitors pulled [...]

E3 in serious jeopardy, possibly cancelled indefinitely
Posted by inpheaux on July 30th, 2006 at 2:57 pmSomewhat shocking news from inside the Electronic Software Association today: E3 is potentially over.
Depending on who you ask, E3 is either completely dead or due for massive restructuring. Speculation is presently running rampant, and the ESA staying relatively quiet on the subject, though an official announcement is expected tomorrow.
Next-Gen seems convinced that the show is [...]
New Directional Pad forums online!
Posted by inpheaux on July 30th, 2006 at 2:13 amAfter a week or so of teaching myself all about modding and theming PunBB, I'm happy to say that we've rolled out the new Directional Pad Forums. They work more or less exactly like they used to. The key difference is that they're not phpBB anymore, which will let me sleep a bit easier at [...]

Update: Team Fortress 2 artwork released
Posted by inpheaux on July 14th, 2006 at 9:50 pmYesterday, I commented that I would be reserving judgement until I saw it for myself. I can now say that I fully endorse the new art direction. This is way better than "generic modern military combat". If we want that, we can play Battlefield 2.
Earlier today Valve weighed in with their official update about all [...]
KillerNic: XTREEM NETWORKING!!
Posted by Metallian on July 14th, 2006 at 12:24 amNetwork interface cards are pretty run of the mill nowadays. In the rare instance your motherboard doesn't have one integrated, it's a matter of a car trip and 5 dollars to pick up one that's the same as all the rest. Right?
¡INCORRECTO SEÑOR! your pathetic excuse for a NIC disgusts me and it's all I [...]
