EGM confirms 12 new tracks for Guitar Hero 2!
Posted by inpheaux on August 31st, 2006 at 6:17 pmWord on the street is that the October issue of EGM, which won't be hitting shelves until September 12th, has shown up on the doorstep of NeoGAF forum user "_leech_". Contained inside was an updated list of "confirmed" tracks for Guitar Hero 2, conveniently 12 songs longer than what we had already. Here's the list, bold tracks are new:
Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box
Primus - John the Fisherman
STP - Trippin' On a Hole in a Paper Heart
Anthrax - Madhouse
Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil
The Police - Message in a Bottle
The Pretenders - Tattooed Love Boys
Cheap Trick - Surrender
Spinal Tap - Tonight I'm Going to Rock You Tonight
Heart - Crazy on You
Allman Brothers Band - Jessica
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird
Avenged Sevenfold - Beast and the Harlot
Dick Dale - Misirlou
Lamb of God - Laid to Rest
Alice in Chains - Them Bones
Reverent Horton Heat - Psychobilly Freakout
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
KISS - Strutter
Butthole Surfers - Who Was in My Room Last Night?
Van Halen - You Really Got Me
Guns 'n Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
The Rolling Stones - Can't You Hear Me Knocking
Rush - YYZ
Nirvana and Alice in Chains and Spinal Tap? Rock on. This brings our total up to 24, or 25 if the Drist song Arterial Black is still in the game. That's been somewhat up in the air, ever since Marcus Henderson (one of the guitarists responsible for a lot of the cover tracks in Guitar Hero 1 and 2) left the band. If this list ends up true, we'll have about half of the tracks confirmed.
I wanted to wait to post this until I got a bit more confirmation that it was real. I didn't, but I did have a guy from Harmonix not deny that the list was real. So that means it's real, right guys? Right? If it's not, I guess we'll find out in a couple days when the issue starts showing up for more people.
UPDATE - 04 SEP 2006 @ 12:24 - We've finally got confirmation from 1up.com, EGM's sister-site. This is all real, guys. Time to take off the rumor-mill tag.
