Today's set: Wii and PS3 preorders and kiosks.
A Gamestop employee on the Something Awful Forums mentioned that today he read in an internal e-mail that Gamestop and EB locations in the US will start accepting preorders for the Nintendo Wii on October 9th. Put down $50 and you'll be put in line [...]
PS3 gets an upgrade and price drop in Japan
Posted by inpheaux on September 23rd, 2006 at 9:34 pmOh, Sony. Not even out of the gate yet, and you're already having to drop MSRP to make your product relevant.
The Tokyo Game Show took place last week, and during Sony's keynote, Ken Kutaragi dropped two last-minute changes. First item: Upgrade. HDMI is in now, for real, on both models of PS3. No, you probably [...]

MTV obviously wants some street cred, and having one [...]

New batch of games available on Steam
Posted by inpheaux on September 14th, 2006 at 3:31 pmIt seems like every other week Valve is hopping in bed with some new publisher or developer to push their stuff out via Steam. And to think that some people said online delivery via Steam would never take off. First it was X2 and X3 popping up without Starforce, then Popcap dumping all their games [...]

Double Fine scores a publishing contract with Vivendi Games
Posted by inpheaux on September 8th, 2006 at 1:08 pmThings were kinda sketchy there for awhile, between the falling out with Majesco (and Majesco's implosion that followed shortly thereafter) and heading into the bunker of non-communication that most developers head to when they start a new project, but it all seems to have worked out nicely for Tim Schafer and friends at Double Fine. [...]

Posted by inpheaux on September 6th, 2006 at 11:49 amThe never-ending PLAYSTATION! 3! (SPIDERMAN FONT!) comedy of errors continues.
Problem #1: Hey guys! Remember that "worldwide" launch planned for November? Well Europe, Asia, Australia, and everybody else gets to watch from the bench, as the November launch is now limited to Japan and North America. The rest of the world gets to wait until March [...]
