Double dose of PS3 blunders: delays and shortages

The never-ending PLAYSTATION! 3! (SPIDERMAN FONT!) comedy of errors continues.
Problem #1: Hey guys! Remember that "worldwide" launch planned for November? Well Europe, Asia, Australia, and everybody else gets to watch from the bench, as the November launch is now limited to Japan and North America. The rest of the world gets to wait until March 2007 while Sony churns out more units. Think of it this way, now you all have more time to save up for the PS3! Sony is helping you!
Problem #2: Remember how they were going to have 2 million units ready for all those regions? That's not happening now either. The new count? 500,000 units. Whoops! And the split isn't even. Instead, the US gets 400,000 units and Japan gets 100,000.
The supposed reasoning for both of these is that Sony just can't make enough units in time. They started final production too late, and now there's a shortage of Blu-ray lasers.
gg Sony, nextmap.
