Gamestop/EB Wii Preorder details confirmed
Posted by inpheaux on October 12th, 2006 at 11:58 amOne more quick news update here, since I just got the official e-mail about it. The news I posted last night on the forums has been confirmed. Gamestop and EB locations nationwide will be accepting preorders for the Wii tomorrow starting whenever the stores open.
If you want a preorder it'll run you $50 (trade or cash), and you'd best get there early. PS3 preorders that were done earlier in the week went almost instantaneously, since stores were only allowed to take single digit preorder counts. I still somewhat expect the number of preorders they're allowed to take for the Wii to be a bit higher, but we really don't know until it starts tomorrow.
Canadian preorder details were also announced in the same e-mail. Canadian Preorders for both the PS3 and Wii will start next Monday, 16 OCT 2006, and will run either $50 CDN in trade or $200 CDN in combined cash/trade.
For both the Canadian and US preorders, there's a clear disclaimer that this preorder in no way confirms you will have a console at launch, however, seeing as they're only allowing a SEVERELY limited number of preorders, it's pretty safe to assume if you preorder you'll be getting one.
