Last month, we reported that the criticially acclaimed PC platformer Psychonauts would be coming to Steam, Valve's online game delivery service.
Well, it's out now. $19.99 gets you one of the best games I've played in years, and you don't have to leave your house.
Seriously, if you haven't played Psychonauts yet, you now have absolutely no [...]

Capcom dissolves Clover Studios

Posted by inpheaux on October 12th, 2006 at 11:33 am

I'm not sure what to say, apart from stating that this is probably some of the worst news I've heard in quite awhile. Clover Studios, a subsidiary of Capcom, developers responsible for the Viewitful Joe games, God Hand and Okami, are being dissolved. This doesn't mean all the developers from Clover are now out of [...]

Here's your update for the week: October 9th thing we reported on earlier turned out to be false. Whoops. Same goes for the "we'll call you" thing we didn't report on. This was all sorta expected.
So what's new? Well, for starters, some actual real news has been trickling out of Gamestop/EB Games. Specifically, that PS3 [...]

New set of Reviews & Previews posted

Posted by inpheaux on October 1st, 2006 at 7:48 pm

We've been busy around here, honest. Couple new things to discuss.
First: we've done away with our old numerical score system, as discussed on our forums. Numbers just don't convey any information anymore. What review sites are really trying to convey when it comes to scores is if we recommend a game or not, and if [...]

Oh, Sony. Not even out of the gate yet, and you're already having to drop MSRP to make your product relevant.

According to the New York Times, MTV is slated to pick up Harmonix immediately for $175 Million in cash. The article says it's more than just a branding thing, citing some crazy stuff about "expanding web channels" and "remixing songs", but really it boils down to branding.
MTV obviously wants some street cred, and having one [...]

Posted by inpheaux on September 14th, 2006 at 3:31 pm

It seems like every other week Valve is hopping in bed with some new publisher or developer to push their stuff out via Steam. And to think that some people said online delivery via Steam would never take off. First it was X2 and X3 popping up without Starforce, then Popcap dumping all their games [...]
