Supreme Commander goes Gold, on shelves 20 FEB 2007

Just another quickie this morning, looks like Gas Powered Games and THQ have decided Supreme Commander is ready to go. The Master Copy has been handed off to production, and is expected to be in stores on 20 FEB 2007.

Supreme Commander is Chris Taylor's spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed (and deeply loved by the Directional Pad Staff) Total Annihilation, an RTS with an epic scale. From what we saw at E3 and what we've been playing of the Beta, Supreme Commander fully lives up to the standards set by its predecessor. In it, three factions are pitted against eachother, and you'll be fighting in giant theaters of combat, with everything ranging from ground troops to jet fighters to enormous armored arachnoid tanks equipped with equally enormous red laser death cannons.

If you're a fan of TA or a fan of RTS games in general, this is your first Can't-Miss game for 2007. Only problem you might encounter into is whether or not your computer can actually reliably run the game, as those hundreds upon hundreds of units on the screen at any given time aren't going to render themselves.
