Smash Bros. Dojo website launches

For the past month or so, Nintendo has had a teaser page up at SmashBros.com, telling us amazing new things would be coming. It's up finally, but it's just a bit underwhelming compared to the nuclear strike launched by Blizzard over the weekend.
The new "Smash Bros. Dojo" features - as rumored - updates every weekday from Masahiro Sakurai, creator and designer of the Smash Bros. series. Thus far, the updates are incredibly tame, and the intended audience seems to be "someone who has never played a videogame before, let alone a Smash Bros. game", but there's still no release date in sight and he's promising to update at least once every weekday, and gee, that's better than what we do here at Directional Pad, so can we really complain if every update isn't something earth-shattering?
That said, there are a few interesting tidbits in the first three updates:
- Still no solid release date, but they're at least still targeted for some time in 2007.
- Stages now have a day/night cycle, to change things up over the course of a marathon combat session.
- The first stage shown off is Battlefield, which appears to be Pit's Kid Icarus-themed stage.
- Damn near every composer who has ever arranged music for any Japanese video game ever is contributing to this. I am not joking, look at the list. Look at it. Additionally, a clip of the menu music is up on this page.
Alright, so that's not amazing yet, but again, he's going to be updating this with an almost ridiculous frequency, so hopefully he'll have time to stop talking down to us and give us information we care about like "So what characters are we talking about, here?" and "So what week should I set aside in my schedule to accommodate this wonderful video game product?" and the all-important "HAY IS SONIC IN THE GAME?!!1?!!"
We'll see.
