Smash Bros. Brawl works with whatever controller you’ve got

Posted by inpheaux on June 8th, 2007 at 2:45 am

News worth talking about has been sorta sparse from the Smash Bros. DOJO website, but hey, after that first week we stopped expecting to hear anything astounding. Today's update, however, is actually pretty neat: they finally cleared up the controller question.

In the past, the only thing they really confirmed was that if you're a Smash Bros purist you could use the GameCube controller. Well, today they confirmed that you can use whatever controller you like. Just a Wii-mote? Works. Wii-mote and Nunchuk? That works too. Classic Controller? Also works. GameCube Controller? Yep, still works.

The only question this really leaves is "How the hell will the Wii-mote alone have enough buttons, especially for Smash Attacks?" That is apparently being left for us to wonder. (Smart money's on it being motion sensitive, but good luck ever seeing that being used in tournament play.)
