BAD END: Smash Bros Brawl delayed til 10 FEB 2008
Posted by inpheaux on October 11th, 2007 at 6:59 pmThey just wouldn't let us get away with a good week. Sure, we got the Sonic announcement, but alongside the delay to January in Japan, we've got word from Nintendo's mini-pre-E-for-All media event that they've delayed Smash Bros Brawl in the US until 10 FEB 2008. No reason, no explanation, it's just apparently not done [...]
Rock Band: 360/PS3 – 23 NOV 2007 for $170, PS2 – 10 DEC 2007 for $160
Posted by inpheaux on September 28th, 2007 at 5:05 pmWell, prices and dates are finally out, and frankly I'm pretty disappointed. Hear me out, OK. Sure, $170 is way better than $200, but there's only one version, they're making you buy a full set of Guitar, Drum Kit and Mic. I have absolutely zero interest in the Drums and Mic. Sorry guys, I just [...]
Last remnant of FASA closes up shop
Posted by inpheaux on September 12th, 2007 at 8:35 pmAbout six years ago FASA Corporation, the Pen & Paper RPG Juggernaut responsible for such licenses as BattleTech and Shadowrun, abruptly closed up shop. Their works lived on, though, as their electronics division had recently been bought by Microsoft, and their PnP games were eventually licensed around to a variety of companies.
Today, FASA Studio, that [...]
Good News and Bad News about The Orange Box preorder
Posted by inpheaux on September 11th, 2007 at 1:05 pmNot to be outdone by Fortress Forever's announcement of their mod being released next Monday, Valve have turned around and made their own announcement:
The Orange Box is up on Steam right now.
Good News: If you pre-order it now, you save $5 and get to play the Team Fortress 2 beta starting (you guessed it) next [...]

Posted by inpheaux on August 4th, 2007 at 7:40 amWell, it looks like the guys from id had a bit more up their sleeves than just naming Rage. Actually, they had a whole lot more.
First up: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars got a release date. 2 OCT 2007, on PC, PS3, 360. There's also a new build playable right now at QuakeCon, which will hopefully [...]

Sony @ E3 2007 – Desperately Seeking Relevancy
Posted by inpheaux on July 11th, 2007 at 7:24 pmSony Press Conferences are even better to summarize because there's rarely anything of substance, and what does have substance is probably multi-platform.
So lets dive right in:
PS2: Sony reminded us that the PS2 does exist, and they are still totally supporting it! And then they promptly said "Oh but we aren't talking about PS2 stuff today." [...]
Nintendo @ E3 2007 – Numbers, Dates, the Zapper and … a Scale?
Posted by inpheaux on July 11th, 2007 at 12:59 pmI like Nintendo Press Conferences because you can generally summarize them pretty easily.
Numbers: Shocking news - Reggie loves his charts & graphs and Nintendo is totally dominating everything when it comes to numbers. The DS now makes up a quarter of the console market, and somehow the GBA is refusing to give up its marketshare. [...]
Microsoft @ E3 2007 – Games, Games, Games and an Olive 360
Posted by inpheaux on July 11th, 2007 at 2:06 amMicrosoft's E3 2007 Press Conference has come and gone, and there was a rather massive dearth of really earth-shattering stuff. Much like last year, really. Hell, last year I didn't even do a recap.
Tonight's press event was all about games. Microsoft is past fiddling with hardware (maybe), and is seriously focusing on content. And it's [...]
PS3 $100 Price Drop Confirmed, Desperate
Posted by inpheaux on July 9th, 2007 at 7:43 amThis price drop story has been kicking around forever. It started ages ago as speculation, possibly hoping:
"Gee, I sure wish Sony would stop being ridiculous and drop the price of the PS3. You know, so normal people could actually afford the damn thing."
Then it turned to something we flat out expected:
"Aahaaahaaha Sony is getting crushed. [...]
