Online multiplayer confirmed for Smash Bros Brawl

Posted by inpheaux on September 18th, 2007 at 7:39 am

After weeks of crap updates like gliding, finally something we actually care about: Online WFC Multiplayer has been confirmed for Smash Bros Brawl.
Sure, we were told from the start that online multiplayer over WFC was one of the whole points of Smash Bros Brawl, but remember: this is Nintendo, the undisputed kings of squeezing out [...]

Reviews: Puzzles, Hair Metal, and Transforming Metal

Posted by inpheaux on August 21st, 2007 at 12:15 am

Quick review post, as I need to get to sleep so I can wake up bright and early to play Bioshock when it arrives on my doorstep tomorrow morning.

Picross DS - Highly Recommended - This is easily one of the best values out there right now for the DS. There are potentially hundreds of hours [...]

Activision and Neversoft confirm Metallica’s “One” will be in GH3

Posted by inpheaux on August 3rd, 2007 at 9:51 pm

And it'll be a Master Track, naturally.
Unfortunately, this is another one of those news items where everything you need to know is going to be in the post slug. Activision just sorta tossed it in as part of a corporate conference call. There just isn't much else to say.
So here's a video from the field [...]

Nintendo @ E3 2007 - Numbers, Dates, the Zapper and … a Scale?

Posted by inpheaux on July 11th, 2007 at 12:59 pm

I like Nintendo Press Conferences because you can generally summarize them pretty easily.
Numbers: Shocking news - Reggie loves his charts & graphs and Nintendo is totally dominating everything when it comes to numbers. The DS now makes up a quarter of the console market, and somehow the GBA is refusing to give up its marketshare. [...]

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass coming sooner than expected

Posted by inpheaux on July 2nd, 2007 at 9:01 am

The latest in the Legend of Zelda series - The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - was only released back on the 23rd in Japan, and we had previously been told that we'd be waiting until much later this year to get the non-moonspeak version, but it looks like Nintendo changed their minds. In a [...]

Smash Bros. Brawl works with whatever controller you’ve got

Posted by inpheaux on June 8th, 2007 at 2:45 am

News worth talking about has been sorta sparse from the Smash Bros. DOJO website, but hey, after that first week we stopped expecting to hear anything astounding. Today's update, however, is actually pretty neat: they finally cleared up the controller question.
In the past, the only thing they really confirmed was that if you're a Smash [...]

Guitar Hero III Good News and Bad News

Posted by inpheaux on May 30th, 2007 at 11:49 pm

Update: 31 MAY 2007 @ 19:46:55
Looks like IGN just completely dropped the ball last night. They pulled the videos, and replaced the one of My Name is Jonas with a 100% run (to hide the fact that the full audio track was cutting out), and replaced the one of Slow Ride with a section that [...]

Guitar Hero III confirmed, headed to ALL PLATFORMS

Posted by inpheaux on May 23rd, 2007 at 1:22 pm

And I mean ALL OF THEM. PS2. PS3. 360. Wii.
Today, Activision announced the forthcoming third (or fourth if you count 80's) installment of the Guitar Hero series. The formula is staying the same, but with a few key upgrades:

Developer: Neversoft (For real, this time. Apparently Harmonix is still on board for 80's.)

Platforms: Everything. PS2, PS3, [...]

Smash Bros. Dojo website launches

Posted by inpheaux on May 22nd, 2007 at 3:00 am

For the past month or so, Nintendo has had a teaser page up at SmashBros.com, telling us amazing new things would be coming. It's up finally, but it's just a bit underwhelming compared to the nuclear strike launched by Blizzard over the weekend.
The new "Smash Bros. Dojo" features - as rumored - updates every weekday [...]
