Gamestop/EB Wii Preorder details confirmed

One more quick news update here, since I just got the official e-mail about it. The news I posted last night on the forums has been confirmed. Gamestop and EB locations nationwide will be accepting preorders for the Wii tomorrow starting whenever the stores open.

Harmonix to be acquired by MTV for $175 Mil

According to the New York Times, MTV is slated to pick up Harmonix immediately for $175 Million in cash. The article says it's more than just a branding thing, citing some crazy stuff about "expanding web channels" and "remixing songs", but really it boils down to branding.

Reggie confirms it: Wii in US - 19 NOV 2006, $250

At Nintendo of America's press conference today, unofficially dubbed "THURSDAYTON", Reggie confirmed everything we were told early thismorning. Sorta takes all the wind out of it when it was leaked 8 hrs before it got confirmed, right? But who cares? Confirmation is Confirmation.

Over the next 48 hrs, Nintendo has three press events of substantial size taking place. First in Japan, tonight (???) at 8pm EDT. Then in New York, tomorrow at 9am EDT.
