Guitar Hero III confirmed, headed to ALL PLATFORMS
Posted by inpheaux on May 23rd, 2007 at 1:22 pmAnd I mean ALL OF THEM. PS2. PS3. 360. Wii.
Today, Activision announced the forthcoming third (or fourth if you count 80's) installment of the Guitar Hero series. The formula is staying the same, but with a few key upgrades:
Developer: Neversoft (For real, this time. Apparently Harmonix is still on board for 80's.)
Platforms: Everything. PS2, PS3, [...]

Posted by inpheaux on May 10th, 2007 at 6:28 amWe've known this was coming for ages now, it's just never been official. But now it is. Having shipped Guitar Hero 2 for the 360 and officially handed the reigns of the Guitar Hero franchise to a new developer, and with the expected release of the game looming near, Activision finally got around to telling [...]

Posted by inpheaux on January 17th, 2007 at 8:24 amToday, from the "didn't see that one coming" department, we have word from GameDaily that it looks like the development torch of the Guitar Hero franchise has been passed from Harmonix to Neversoft, developers of the Tony Hawk series of games.
There's no official announcement, no in-depth explanations, just the fact that Neversoft's website is split [...]

Those reviews I promised
Posted by inpheaux on November 19th, 2006 at 2:10 amOr some of them, at least.
I'm sorry that this is going to be a rather terse update, but I only have however long it takes for my Wii to update itself before I am compelled to begin pouring hours upon hours of my life into it. So here goes, five new reviews:

Wal-Mart breaks Guitar Hero 2’s street date by 2 weeks
Posted by inpheaux on October 26th, 2006 at 3:06 pmNews Flash: reports from the NeoGAF forums seem to indicate that some Wal-Mart locations have broken Guitar Hero 2's street date of 07 NOV 2006 by putting the game on shelves today. As usual with broken street dates, this could be a very localized thing, so check your local Wal-Marts before canceling your preorders elsewhere. [...]
Sony sues Lik-Sang into oblivion
Posted by inpheaux on October 24th, 2006 at 12:16 pmIn a shocking followup to a story from last week, where Sony successfully got the grey-market import shop Lik-Sang to stop exporting Sony products from Hong Kong to Europe, Lik-Sang has closed down entirely.
No further orders on anything will be taken. All un-filled purchases will be cancelled. Everything will be refunded.
In their going-away-notice, Lik-Sang had [...]
The Jack Thompson Comedy Tour continues: Bully cleared for release
Posted by inpheaux on October 16th, 2006 at 4:35 pmLast week, our good friend Jack Thompson was cheering and patting himself on the back when he got a Florida appellate court to force Take Two to give them a copy of Bully to review as part of his hilarious several-month crusade against the game.
Well, they did. The Judge watched, and while he wasn't thrilled [...]
Capcom dissolves Clover Studios
Posted by inpheaux on October 12th, 2006 at 11:33 amI'm not sure what to say, apart from stating that this is probably some of the worst news I've heard in quite awhile. Clover Studios, a subsidiary of Capcom, developers responsible for the Viewitful Joe games, God Hand and Okami, are being dissolved. This doesn't mean all the developers from Clover are now out of [...]
