MTV reveals most of the Guitar Hero 2 set list
Posted by inpheaux on October 3rd, 2006 at 6:54 pmI know it may seem like every other day there's another post here about some new Guitar Hero 2 news, but damnit, we're excited about this. MTV has an online gaming video . . show . . thing . . on their "Overdrive" site, and in their latest episode the lead segment is about [...]
New set of Reviews & Previews posted
Posted by inpheaux on October 1st, 2006 at 7:48 pmWe've been busy around here, honest. Couple new things to discuss.
First: we've done away with our old numerical score system, as discussed on our forums. Numbers just don't convey any information anymore. What review sites are really trying to convey when it comes to scores is if we recommend a game or not, and if [...]
Harmonix to be acquired by MTV for $175 Mil
Posted by inpheaux on September 22nd, 2006 at 11:54 amAccording to the New York Times, MTV is slated to pick up Harmonix immediately for $175 Million in cash. The article says it's more than just a branding thing, citing some crazy stuff about "expanding web channels" and "remixing songs", but really it boils down to branding.
MTV obviously wants some street cred, and having one [...]

Contained inside was an updated list of "confirmed" tracks for Guitar Hero 2, conveniently 12 songs longer than what we had already. Here's the list, [...]

In addition to the 11 tracks we knew about already, today we've got #12: Guns 'n Roses - Sweet Child of Mine. Gamespot's got a video of it. The vocal track sounds kinda off, but at least it isn't as bad as the cover of Trippin on [...]

5 New Reviews (Seriously!)
Posted by inpheaux on July 12th, 2006 at 12:45 amYes. We've been sitting on these. Some of them for quite awhile. We're sorry about that, but again would like to blame E3 and Oblivion.
So here's what we've got:
1) Tetris DS - A great game you should already have by now.
2) Metroid Prime Hunters - A somewhat disappointing game you should have already finished and [...]
LucasArts’ Prez: Time is more important than Quality
Posted by inpheaux on June 17th, 2006 at 7:02 amFor anyone who's been attempting to play and enjoy recent games from LucasArts, a formerly epic game developer, this should seem like a no-brainer, but it's nice to see confirmation from up high. LucasArts cares more about deadlines than releasing good polished videogames.
Examine this wonderful quote from a recent interview LEC's President Jim Ward had [...]
Square Enix @ E3 - All Final Fantasy, All the time (plus mobile phone games)
Posted by inpheaux on May 9th, 2006 at 5:29 pmI meant to find time yesterday evening to write up a report on Square-Enix's Press conference, but right as I sat down to start it, the Sony press conference started up. Luckily, I'm in the middle of a five-hour flight across the country right now, and that's plenty of time to write a recap.
Squeenix's Press [...]
